William Griffin

William Griffin joined Susser Bank in May 2021 as Executive Vice President and Houston President. He leads a team of professionals who provide comprehensive banking solutions, including lending, treasury management, and deposit services, to individuals and businesses in Houston and the surrounding areas.

Mr. Griffin has 32 years of experience in the banking industry, managing complex client relationships and high performing sales teams. He spent 27 of those years at Bank of America (NYSE: BAC), where he started as a Senior Client Manager, then a Market Executive in Global Commercial Banking. He also spent 4 years as Managing Director and Region Executive of Bank of America Private Banking. 

After that, Mr. Griffin spent four years at Texas Capital Bank (NDAQ: TCBI) as Executive Vice President and Manager of the Houston Corporate and Commercial Banking Teams.  

He has been active for many years with various non-profit organizations and is currently on the Board of the Children’s Museum of Houston, the Advisory Council of the UT MS Finance program and the UT System Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee. 

Mr. Griffin completed both his BBA and MBA degrees in finance at UT Austin’s Red McCombs School of Business and was active in Phi Gamma Delta and the Texas Cowboys. He also attended the Wharton Executive Performance Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania. 

He also holds the following active FINRA licenses – Series 7, 24, 63, 66.
