Carl Cravens
Carl Cravens currently serves as Chief Banking Officer for Susser Bank and is a member of the Executive Leadership Group. Mr. Cravens is responsible for the bank’s lending, treasury management and marketing activities.
With more than 30 years of experience in commercial banking, finance and treasury management solutions, Mr. Cravens brings a unique perspective to his commercial banking relationships. He raised both private equity and senior debt while he was Director of Finance for a start-up healthcare company in the southeastern and southwestern regions if the U.S. His experience “from the other side of the table” allows him to understand the difficult tasks facing business owners today.
Prior to joining Susser Bank in 2018, Mr. Cravens was Regional President of Southwest Bank, where he managed a team of bankers in Arlington, Mansfield, and the hospital region in Fort Worth. Under his leadership, he helped grow the bank to $2.5 billion in assets. Prior to that, he was President of BBVA Compass Arlington and spent eight years in the Commercial and Specialized Industries Group at JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM).
Mr. Cravens earned his BA in Economics from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN where he earned an NCAA Post Graduate Scholar Award and used that scholarship to attain an MBA in finance from The University of Texas at Arlington.
As a member of one of Arlington’s founding families, Mr. Cravens is very active in the local community and has held leadership positions on several local boards including Texas Health Resources Finance Committee, Texas Health Arlington Board Chairman and Chair of the Board for The Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce and Arlington Conventions and Visitors Bureau. He is currently on the Board of the Dallas Regional Chamber and serves on the Economic Development Council. He was also a founding member of the baseball league designed for children and adults with daily challenges called the Miracle League DFW.
Mr. Cravens lives in Arlington with his wife Lisa, and their three children.
